 PRIVACY STATEMENT

The maintenance of your privacy is a key priority for ACCESS and its staff.  We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and to ensuring that you have a stress-free experience in using the ACCESS site.  Here we outline the areas where you may have some concerns about your level of privacy, the information we collect in these areas and why we collect it.  We also outline what you can do if you are uncomfortable with the information we collect from you.

We want you to get the most out of your use of ACCESS.  To enjoy a truly personal experience entails sharing some personal information with us and we want you to feel comfortable and trust that we make every effort to protect your confidentiality.  Please take a few minutes to read our complete policy so you can understand how information is used and the specific measures we take to protect your personal information.

What we promise to do:

  • We will do our very best to protect your personal privacy.
  • We will never sell your personal information to anyone.
  • We will never individually identify you to third parties. However, to defer the costs of publishing the ACCESS site, we may at times distribute general information about our visitors to advertisers or business affiliates. This information typically includes the total number of people who visit our site, the percentage of women vs men, etc.  All this information is de-identified ie. we will never individually identify you.
  • We will always clearly state why we are collecting personal information and how it will be used.
  • You have control over how your personal information is used.

Your name & email address

The ACCESS membership form requires you to provide us contact information (such as your name and email address) and this information is used to contact you to alert you to relevant site changes or services which you have requested. You may opt-out of receiving mailings from us at any time. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to any mailing lists without your prior consent.

Links to other sites

This site contains links to other sites. ACCESS is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. We recommend that you carefully read their privacy policies, especially if you're asked to supply personal information.

Anonymity

It is entirely up to you whether you provide your real name on registering to receive services from ACCESS.  Wherever you are asked for your name and password,  you obviously have the option to provide a “nick name” or pseudonym.  Your email address is only required if you wish to be notified of new material, receive an alert or to register for the email newsletter.

Third party advertisement serving

In some cases ACCESS’s advertisers may use companies other than ACCESS to serve their banners or links that appear on the ACCESS site. These companies may collect information by placing a cookie on your hard drive. The collected data could be used to build a profile of you for marketing and advertising purposes. If you have ever provided information on another web site, this information could be cross-referenced with such a cookie and associated with a particular user profile.  For this reason you should be familiar with the privacy policies of other sites before you provide any personal information. We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites, but will do our best to protect your privacy while you are visiting ACCESS.
